QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field, a minimum of three years direct experience in the field of early childhood education, and classroom/center-based experience is required. One year of supervisory/program management experience is preferred. Also requires excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent computer skills; and a high level of interpersonal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for implementation of the Early Childhood Education program in accordance with the appropriate Head Start Performance Standards and applicable State of Maryland and Federal child care regulations. Reviews classroom lesson plans and curriculum for inclusion of outcome measures, individualization, literacy, culturally diverse and age appropriate activities. Acts as a resource and content area expert for staff and parents in the area of child development and education. Organizes staffing with appropriate classroom and service area staff to review and collaborate on individual children’s cases. Promotes agency in-kind in classrooms, monitors classroom in-kind, reviews data to suggest ideas for improvement. Develops monthly parent-child curriculum related at home activities for EHS/HS in-kind hours. Coordinates newsletter information. Works with college intern programs and agency volunteers.

SALARY: $17.77 per hour

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Driver must be at least 21 years of age; possess a Class B CDL driver’s license with a P/S endorsement and an excellent driving record. Minimum of one-year experience driving a school bus preferred. Ability to follow written directions and to complete simple forms. Hold a through knowledge of rules of the road and of the Maryland State Motor Vehicle Code, the operation and function of the assigned motor vehicle, and a working knowledge of the geography of Hagerstown and its environment. Ability to read and to understand a map. Ability to work well with a wide variety of people and to understand and to follow instructions.
