Dear Parents/Guardians, Late last week, the CDC released new recommendations on COVID-19 precautions based on the level of spread in the community. Their recommendations show three clear levels of COVID-19 in a community: low, medium, or high. Today, Washington County is in the medium level. These levels allow prevention measures to be dialed up or down depending on the level of each community. Inclement Weather & Emergency Closing Policy (as of 2/12/21) WHAT TO DO IF WCPS ARE CLOSED….. ALL CENTERS If the Washington County Public Schools are closed to children, then all Head Start classrooms (both in person and distance learning) will be closed to children.

PROGRAM UPDATE: PLANS TO RE-OPEN HEAD START CENTERS: **I am going to separate this into "phases" but please know that the dates are guidelines and may very well change if we encounter outbreaks or other road blocks** PHASE 1: Beginning Tuesday, February 16, HSWC will be re-opening our Elgin and Noland sites. In general, we hope to fully re-open Noland and open Elgin at around half capacity. Staff will be contacting parents regarding the status of their child.

PROGRAM UPDATE: Head Start of Washington County families: With our community positivity rate still around 13%, we are saddened to announce that distance learning will continue in all HSWC centers until at least 2/16/21. It is our sincere hope that along with WCPS, we will be able to re-open to a small portion of children, in person, at some of our centers on that day.
