Parent Education Services At the beginning of each school year parents provide us with a number of health topics that they would like to learn more about. We use this information to put together training and educational opportunities for our families. Some of the most recent training we have provided includes:
What is Head Start Health Advisory? The Head Start Health Services Advisory (HSAC) is a committee that meets three times a year. The committee consists of the Health Manager, Health Assistant, members of the HSWC management team, participants form the Washington County health community, and parents. HSAC meets and speaks about the issues of health and how our program can assist children and families. The committee looks at ways of providing education to the families we serve and to the community. The committee also reviews procedures of the agency in compliance with federal policy and procedures. The HSAC strives to maintain primary intervention and health promotion measures for our agency and the families that we service. Annual Health Fair Offered during the month of August, the HSWC Annual Health Fair is open to the children and families in our full day program, returning children, children who are newly enrolled in the program, and also as an outreach event for the community in Washington County.
